Date: January 4th, 2017
Happy New Year to all!! 2016 had many milestones and was a successful year here at Gateway. We have enjoyed great weather this past month, and remain hopeful for a great rest of the season weather-wise. We know at this point, that we have added many new members and will start the year right where we budgeted which is great. We count our members using what we call Full Member Equivalents, (FME’s). This essentially means we assign a percentage value to all the different types of memberships and use the equivalent number to judge where we stand. Please join us on Monday January 16th in the Griffin Room at 6:30 p.m., where we will present the results of the Strategic Planning process and our corresponding business plan to grow the number of FME’s. There are no magic secrets, membership growth is all about retention and attraction. We need everyone’s help to tackle this goal. I hope to see you at the presentation.
January is a busy month here at the club. We have several new activities kicking off; Bridge Lessons, Matinee and Happy Hour, Weight Watchers, Walking Club, and a Speaker Series (featuring some of our members) to name a few. If you would like to help champion an activity, please contact the administration office. The success of the Club’s within the Club and our other social activities are dependent upon the members’ usage and involvement. Also look for Bunco, Book Club, Duplicate Bridge, Bocce, Artisans Guild, Garden Club, Art Classes as well as the Wine Club to name a few! See the list of contacts on the last page of this newsletter and take advantage of all that your Club has to offer.
Thursday evening dining returns on January 12th and will run through April. Chef Dan will reprise the popular two for dinners as well as grill room offerings such as Burgers, Quesadilla’s, Salads etc.
As always your feedback and suggestions are most welcome and appreciated. The Comment Card program helps us to get immediate constructive feedback. Please take a moment to fill one out and give us your comments and suggestions. We would really appreciate it - thanks.
I read yesterday where San Francisco has outlawed the use of Styrofoam. I would like to suggest that as a resolution for 2017, we all try to use fewer Styrofoam cups. I see many of you using your Yeti or Tervis cups while at the Club. If you are like me, you often forget where you may have left your cup. To that end, if you would like to stop by the office, we would be happy to create a name label for you.
As we enter 2017, know that the professional staff‘s goal is to continue to improve in all areas of your club experience. We welcome your ideas to help improve the offerings and products at Gateway Golf & Country Club. Please let us know by whatever means is convenient for you. Thank you.
